27January2006

  • Well, today I"m 4 weeks & 1 day old, & I thought I'd invite the public into my living space. This is my 'crib', as featured on "YO MTV CRIBS (INFANT EDITION)". Normal people refer to it as just a crib, though. It is pretty nice (thanks mom, I love my bumper...you're awsome!), even though I won't really get to enjoy all the luxuries of New Jersey baby life for much longer. I hope we can get this nursery out to California to show Uncle Mike. :)

  • Going home...

  • Here are a few shots from my journey home form the hospital a few weeks ago. As you can see, I was pretty content, considering the fact that my parents dressed me in more clothes than I know what to do with, including the same head-piece that my Mom wore home from the hospital as a baby. (Note my first use of non-verbal finger gestures to the right...that's for making me look like a baby-elf in lace)

  • I'm still pretty darn cute, though.

Remembering the womb

24January 2006

Sometimes mommy and daddy talk about how they can't believe I used to live inside my mommy's tummy. I don't see what the big deal is. It's still the same old me. I even have pictures to prove it. I remember just what it was like to ride around upside down inside my mommy, being jossled all the time. Mom and dad had someone come teach them how to recreate the womb environment for me here on the outside. It's supposed to help calm me down when I'm fussy. So far it works pretty well, although they don't always get it quite right. There's a lot to master - swaddling, shushing, swinging, putting me on my side or stomach, and giving me something to suck. I guess if I really want to go back I'll just have to remember it in my dreams.

  • Here I am only 11 hours old....that was a crazy time. I had never seen light, or felt air, or even used my lungs before--then WHAM! I'm doing it all. That's enough to make any little baby girl tired (especially "the cutest baby girl in the whole wide world" as my Dad likes to call me). I'm not sure who likes sleep more, me or my parents?

  • They are right...I am pretty cute.

  • Too bad about the Panthers. There's always next season!

22 Jan 06

Today is my first day on the internet, but I spent most of it at home nursing, sleeping, and having tummy-time with my parents, Elizabeth and Stewart.

Here's a picture of me & my Mommy, and here's my Daddy holding me after a long flight.

I hope the Panther's win this game, but it's not lookin too good at halftime...

Hey, I can use the internet!

Well, after only 3.5 weeks out of utero, I've already mastered the internet. Welcome to my blog, where you can keep up with me any time you want.

And now my Dad will not have to send pictures out to everyone every other day : )
